Your Kep adventure starts at 8am. Sry, your great guide for today will collect you from your accommodation and give you a brief outline of the day, and answer any questions you may have before we start. Then hop into the jeep and away we go!
On the way to Kep proper, we’ll stop first at Wat Phnom Sorsia Caves. A Buddhist hill complex it contains Buddhist cultural features approached by a staircase and a complex of karst caves.
One cave, Rung Damrey Saa("White Elephant's Cave") has a stalagmite resembling the head of an elephant; another has a bat colony. Considered a holy hill the steps have been carved into the slopes by hand in a winding formation, to reach both the top of the mountain and the White Elephant Cave.
Significant cultural features include two Buddha to the right of the White Elephant Cave, a colorfully hand painted temple, as well as well as a stupa on top of the hill.
From here, we venture on to the famous Kep crab and seafood markets! Every morning from about 4am, the local fishermen bring in their catch.
Let’s wander the markets and Sry will buy some great seafood BB, not just the awesome crab, but maybe some squid, prawn or scallops? All with a zesty Kampot pepper and lime dipping sauce.
Let’s relax by the sea with our snacks! Grab an ice-cold beer, soft drink or iced coffee and enjoy the local fishing fleet in port, or take a walk along the beach, even dive into the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand!
After our snacks and relaxing interlude, lets explore Kep a little more. From the crab statue rising from the warm waters to the distinct French architecture, so damaged during the past conflict as the Vietnamese, led by the Khmer generals crossed the nearby border, and began driving the Khmer Rouge out of Cambodia.
As we return to Kampot, let’s stop at the Kep Butterfly Garden. Nestled in tropical surrounds, a truly serene spot to chill, relax, enjoy some tropical fruits and the gentility of the vivid but soft winged butterflies.
From here, we close our day in Kep, and return to Kampot. Grab a cold drink, cold towelette and enjoy your memories!
Absolutely loved the experience of going for this Kep adventure! Sry took us around the most beautiful local spots around Kampot and Kep (seriously no other tourists around!), gave us a detailed deep dive into the history of each place and was happy to answer all our questions. He also took us to the Kep crab market - helped us shop and find the freshest fish and made sure we didn't get ripped off as tourists. And the best part? We got to enjoy the fish in a dreamy spot overlooking the ocean and have a true local experience. :)) I highly recommend this tour especially if you're looking to experience Kampot & Kep in a more fun and unique way and with a super friendly English speaking guide.

I had an amazing time on the Jeep adventure tour in Kep! The open-air ride through the countryside was an absolute blast—visiting a bustling fish market, exploring hidden caves, and hanging out with cheeky monkeys at a local pagoda. Our guide was super friendly and shared so many fascinating stories about the area’s history. If you want a fun, off-the-beaten-path experience, this tour is a must!
