Plunge into the cool depths of the Phnom Kbal Romeas caves. Inhabited in neo-lithic times, approximately 5000 – 3000 BC, these cavernous areas contain many ancient wonders.
A local guide will explain to you everything about who has grown up in the area and knows the twisting turning paths accessed by a small wooden bridge that sits next to a small Buddhist shrine.
After the cool of these magnificent caves, back into the jeep, grab a cold drink and we drive through the countryside.
Here we can see the rice paddies, and multiple Durian and mango trees for which Kampot is renowned, with the local farmers tending their soon to be bountiful produce.
Learn about daily rural life from those who live it. With water buffalo and oxen around, enjoy walking through the rice fields with a cold drink, or just relax with your guide and the family.
Grab a few awesome photos for your memories, and the jealousy of your friends back home! Enjoy some local snacks underneath this traditional Khmer house, before we head back out onto the road.
Visit a truly rural Pagoda and hear about the daily lives and challenges of the monks, and the children who rely on the Pagoda for education in this remote village.
Brateak Krola Lake. Or as it’s also known, The Secret Lake. Man made by prisoners and captured villagers during the time of the Khmer Rouge.
The lake, or dam, is known as the Secret Lake, not due to its location, but rather the fact that it hides the mass grave that lies beneath. Also hear about the local agricultural lives of those during these harsh times.
